I am about to start grad school. I can financially keep myself afloat, but knowing that my 60 y/o mother has not found a stable job since the pandemic is stressing me out. I dont know what to do.
I’m sorry to hear, but I think you keep on looking and encourage her to look even harder. What’s her expertise or what type of work does she want to do? She can always sign up to substitute teacher. Also, the post office might be another option. These are fairly stable jobs.
The sad part is, she's got college degrees up the wazoo but she's just... no longer marketable. It's not a secret that women her age are finding it hard to secure stable jobs. I will see if the post office has any openings, though. Thank you. And being a sub teacher won't work, she isn't confident in her English
