So let's talk about how to get started on an exercise program. Anna, you mentioned exercising for mental health. Green exercise, which is exercising outdoors, for as little as 10 minutes per day, can have substantial mental health benefits, so that is what I recommend if at all possible. But if for some reason you are unable to exercise outside, any exercise can decreased depression, anxiety, worry, and improve overall mental Outlook.

Rowing machines are excellent because both upper and lower body muscles are engaged. I cannot recommend a particular model or brand. I would recommend trying them out in a store or reading the reviews if you are ordering online.

Whatever form of exercise you choose, start off with one or two short-term goals, and one very long-term goal. This is what keeps you on track. Cardiovascular activity such as walking, and then some core and stretching exercises. Only commit to a short duration but if you feel like making it longer when you're actually engaged in the exercise, great! As the habit develops, you can increase your intensity and duration, that starts slow so that you stick with it. Also important, choose exercises and activities that you enjoy.

What can do for core strength lifting weights.

Best basic core exercises are abdominal work like crunches, planks, bridges, bird dog on all fours. *Remember you should always move in a pain free range of motion. Only do exercises that feel good and do not cause you pain. Keep in mind any pre-existing conditions you may have, obtain clearance from your physician to exercise.

Weight-bearing balance exercises are also good at developing core strength. Exercises in a stable but controlled environment, like tandem standing and single leg balance. Always have something to hold on to like a wall or a chair.

We are only as strong as our core so when we're building strength we want to work from the center out to the limbs. Establish a strong core in the beginning stages of exercise. Strength training is fine at the stage but only using light weights until a strong core is established.
