My number one tip for exercise adherence is to set realistic short-term and long-term goals. Without goals we really don't know where we're going, right?

My second tip, enlist a buddy. The buddy can be somebody you exercise with or it can just be somebody who checks in on you to help keep you on track.

Hi Tim, regarding your question, you should always have medical clearance before beginning and exercise program, but the tips I am giving today are very general and yes, can apply to anyone, even those with pre-existing conditions. We can set up a private session and I can help you set some goals that appropriate for you if you'd like.

Tip #8 - stay hydrated - drink plenty of water before during and after to avoid dehydration. Dehydration can occur without the sensation of thirst and can lead to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Tip #10 - eat a healthy light meal 2 to 3 hours before exercise. If you have not eaten in longer than 2 hours be sure to have a light snack an hour before exercising.
