Just in case you are unable to view the video, this is what it says: – Today I would like to know if any of you have already set some Holiday health and fitness goals and if not if you would like me to help you do this. Holiday health and fitness goals are just goals that will help to keep you on track during the holiday season, a time when it’s really hard to stay on track. These goals might include but are not limited to exercise, diet, meditation, positive self-talk, and staying connected to others; steps that you can take each and every day to be where you want to be, in this case, at the end of the holiday season. It’s also important to respond appropriately when we don’t reach our goals, whether they are short-term or long-term; we will discuss that too. Does anyone have thoughts regarding this?

Hi Tiffany I’m wanting to go back to weight watchers but at Christmas I’m happy to stay stable as long as I didn’t feel I missed out of food and drink around Christmas.

Hi Joanne, that makes complete sense. It's not a good idea to set weight loss goals around the holidays, but weight maintenance is a good idea. do you have a plan in mind so that you can enjoy the holiday season without gaining any additional weight?

The 80/20 rule works good for most people. 80% of the time you're eating for health and to get your basic nutrients. 20% of the time we can eat for pleasure.

Yes so important to keep up with our exercise, not only for weight maintenance but for our mental and physical health.

The key is to allow ourselves some pleasures of the holiday while maintaining healthy habits

So I feel I have the knowledge of eating healthy and I’ve gradually changed some of the things I eat like more healthy yogurt.

Keeping ourselves busy, and having healthy snacks on hand are good ways to minimize snacking on unhealthy items.

Yes, it sounds like you do have a plan. Just keep your eye on the goal, and for you it sounds like your goal is to maintain your weight through the holidays. And don't beat yourself up mentally if you go a little bit off your plan. Just get right back on track.

You made a good point that because it will only be you and your mom, it may be easier to stay away from over indulging. Parties are limited this year which could potentially be a good thing in terms of keeping our diets in check.
