Hi guys , so I’ve been healthy eating and I’ve lost 11lbs which is amazing for me , however on a Saturday I like to give myself a break from calorie restricting on a Saturday , just for a mental break and I usually eat 1750 cals a day but on a Saturday I probably eat 2800 , is this really bad and will it affect my weight loss ? At the moment o don’t see it affecting my weight loss as I’ve lost 11lbs ….however I see so many people saying “cheat” days are really bad and that I need to stick to my diet for weight loss but it’s a lifestyle change not a diet …it’s really stressing me out …I don’t know what to do for what’s best ?

Have you lost the 11lbs whilst doing this on a Saturday? Honestly it all depends on whether you're still in a calorie deficit throughout the week or not with the Saturday included

Do you feel like it’s working? Really only you know what’s best for your body. I would say start seeing how you feel the next day after the cheat day. For someone like me, if I have a “cheat” day, I’d feel so sick the next day, so it then messes with my exercise. But everyone is different! Don’t be so hard on yourself. And celebrate that 11lbs!

At the risk of over simplifying one of the things I’m working on is the things that I feel guilty about and making those a priority to handle. It sounds like you’ve lost some trust and respect for yourself for such a high calorie day buts it’s bit a thing if you just recognize it, learn from it and decide how you’ll handle it next time. Wtg and keep at it!

Having a cheat day/meal once per week isn't necessarily a bad thing, even if you do go over your caloric maintenance for the day. As long as you are in a deficit on a weekly basis, you will still continue to lose weight. For example, if your maintenance is 2000 calories per day that means your weekly maintenance is 14,000 calories per week. Or take the total amount if calories you've eaten in a week and divide it by 7, if it's under 2000, you will lose weight.

I forgot to add that if your maintenance is 2000 and you're eating 1750 calories 6x a week and 2800 1x a week. That means your weekly average is 1900 calories which is only a 100 calorie deficit. Technically you are in a deficit but it will take a lot longer for you to lose weight.
