Today I thought we’d spend some time creating some goals for the next three months -June July and August!
In these crazy times it’s a little challenging to create a longer-term goal when we don’t know what’s going on, but we can sure set some three month goals!
So I thought today would be a great day to take a look at what we want to create over this next three months, how we want our summer to be and feel fulfilled!
First off let’s start with thinking what the best parts of the first five months of this year have been. Here are some questions to help you remember! What are you grateful for?
Take a moment to write down your gratitude.
I’m doing this with you, so there will be some pauses! I could spend a whole hour writing about what I’m grateful for so I’m just making this concise so we can get through this exercise in an hour!
What did you learn?
This past month I learned how to facilitate a dance program! And since January have been learning Spanish on Duolingo.
What fun did you have?
What relationships did you grow?
Alrighty, once you have written what the best parts of this year have been, look at the worst parts for you.
For instance, what was hardest for you? What challenges did you overcome? What are you disappointed about? Where did you get in your own way? What relationships feel more disconnected?
I’ve had a few of these challenges and disappointments and am grateful and glad to be on the other side of them!
No with doing that quick review of what went great and what was challenging, what’s most important in your life right now? What are your top three priorities?
Now not no lol!
Once you have your top three, ask yourself how you want to feel emotionally and physically over the next 3 months
For me, I want to feel active, healthy, and vibrant. Emotionally I want to feel contentment, joy and peace.
Then ask yourself what do you need do you feel those ways
I would like to take time in the next three months to concentrate on my health, by starting to walk more, eat 😋 healthier, quit smoking, I know I can't tackle all three of these at the same time, but I can do one at a time and give it my all for the next three months. I can also keep up with the laundry, and for relaxing 😌 I'll try planting things in Me large planters in the yard to give me to chill and the I'll work first on the quit SMOKING! 🙂 I know thisbwill be the hardest 😪, but it's gone!!. What could you do to create those feelings?
Next, what are three things that you could focus on being thankful for?
When we focus on what we are thankful for, we expand our good feelings.
It also helps us see what we value in life.
For instance, if we’re in a challenging relationship and we focus on what’s not going well that’s all we see! But when we focus on what we appreciate about the person, we see more to appreciate!
Same thing with our health, we can focus on the negatives or we can focus on appreciating all of the wonderful things about our health, such as we are still alive! We can hear we can see we can touch we can laugh! Whatever all the positives are appreciate them!
Now we’re getting into the specifics! What three specific things would you like to achieve? You might want to focus on family, fun, health, home, wealth. You might want to use the wheel of life to help you with this if you’ve done that before
What are three specific things you’d like to accomplish over the next three months?
Big or small, what would make you proud?
If you only accomplished these three things over the next three months, what would make you say “it was an amazing three months!”?
Do these three steps get you excited?
Next, you want to take a look at possible roadblocks that will prevent you from accomplishing these three specific things.
What do you expect to be hard or difficult? What might get in your way
Where might you get in your own way?
What strengths or values will help you through the next three months? What can you call on?
Strength? Persistence? Fairness? Zest? Creativity? Resourcefulness?
Just to name a few!
Next, what is it you’d like to learn over the next three months? Learning is such an amazing activity for our brain and health!
Maybe a new dance? A new language? What would be fun for you to learn?
Finally, how will you make a contribution, a difference? It doesn’t have to be big, just one small thing has a positive impact!
Maybe it’s something to help the planet, such as reduce/reuse/ recycle- like no longer using plastic bags.
or maybe it’s helping others, such as supporting others here on Wisdo, or helping an elderly person mow the lawn, or setting intention to smile and say hello to each person passing by.

Or maybe volunteering
Making a contribution no matter how big or small really does help add meaning to our lives.
