So let’s start out with thinking about environmental things, such as your home your closets your garage your paperwork your yardwork your office etc. think of each area and what it is that energizes you or drains you. So for instance, that could be a closet that needs cleaned out

Saw the things that energize you about your home environment would go under energizers, and the things that drain you go under energy zappers

Then when you’re done with that, go onto your finances. Or your bills and controlled or you contributing to savings etc.…

Then when you’re done that go on to relationships – do you have unfinished business with somebody, a conversation that needs to be said? How are your relationships with your spouse, parents, siblings, children, grandchildren, boss, best friends?

Once again, take a look at the things that energize you and write them down, as well as the drainers

Then when you’re complete with that, go onto your health – how are you doing with your diet, exercise, water? Are you drinking too much? What about your health energizes you, and what drains you?

Then when you’re finished with that, move onto fun and recreation. What do you do for fun that energizes you? What do you do for recreation that drains you

Next, take a look at career or retirement or both, which ever applies to you! What about it energizes you? What drained you? Do you feel your life has meaning? And purpose?

Next, add whatever else energizes you or drains you! I’ll give you five minutes to work on the list!

Of course there is emotional clutter as well and mental clutter. Our excessive thoughts, resentments and other feelings. I’m hoping they showed up on the list but if not you might want to add them later.

Go through the List. If there are somethings you can aluminate right now, then go for it! Work on eliminating one thing from the drainer list each day.

And of course, you want to increase the energizers. Do more of what energizes you, and less of what drains you!

So a great thing to do is choose the thing that weighs on your mind the most

I totally relate to that Kathy! I recall reading about mother Theresa, and how she even questioned her faith at times!

We decide what meaning and purpose we give our lives, nobody else! We are human beings, and I believe part of the human experience is that questioning!

Sometimes I feel totally on track, and other times I question it! That’s part of the mental clutter! So, I need to remind myself that I create my meaning and purpose, and that is what it is!😊

I believe that mental clutter is possibly the most challenging! I think the thing to remember, is just like house work or yardwork, it looks great when we clean it up and we feel so good!

Then the clutter builds up again and weeds grow. We get way down by it, we clean it up and lighten up once again!

It’s the same thing with the thoughts we tell her selves, such as we’re not enough, or we’re not doing enough, or a question our purpose etc.!

We just need to remember to let go of the drainers and do more of the energizers! So maybe it’s just asking yourself in the moment what is my purpose today? What will give my life meaning today?

I believe energy comes a lot from a sense of purpose, knowing what we are here for. One thing you could do, is think of who you really admire. Maybe a relative, author, celebrity. What do you think their purpose is? Is it something you would want to try on for a while?

And I think that’s it for today! I encourage you to take a look at that list of your drainers, and do one thing a day! It doesn’t have to be big, could be as simple as cleaning out a messy junk drawer! But if you do it each day, you’ll be surprised at how much energy you get from it!
