I know I don’t always feel like getting my butt in gear...but I know that pushing through the negative self talk and low energy feelings help me get closer to my goals. That’s what we are here to discuss today...how do we keep leaning towards growth and living our best lives?
Here’s a graphic I share during my speaking engagements...it’s about our thought to outcome cycle...
Our thoughts lead to our feelings, these feelings lead to actions and actions always lead to an outcome...then the outcome leads to more thoughts and the cycle begins all over again. YIKES. If we don’t take control before the thoughts can lead us to unhelpful feelings we’re gonna get trapped.
This, my friends, is the big work we need to do each day to keep ourselves moving in a healthy direction. It is just like going to the gym (ugh!!)...we put in the work so that we can edge towards being more in control...and become aligned with what we really want for ourselves.

Remember, it’s possible that we’re never going to WANT to do the stuff that’s good for us. But we need to do those things anyway. Don’t wait until you want to floss your teeth, just get up and and do it. You may not want to make that phone call you’ve been putting off...that’s ok, you can do it anyway. Author Mel Robbins has this great 5 second rule that helps a lot. Count backwards from 5 and on 1 you GO DO THE THING...5,4,3,2,1 ACT before your brain can talk you out of the action that’s going to help you live your best life.
