Tonight I want to chat more about setting up systems that lead you towards achieving your goals. How does that sound for the group? I’d love your input!

Focusing on systems is ultimately more beneficial than thinking solely about the outcome or goal you wish to achieve.

For instance if my goal is to stop losing my keys what I need to focus on is how I interact with them. What hand to I use when I lock or unlock my front door? Where is the next best place for me to put my keys? What is a way to make my actions easy and feel natural? Personally I have a big clip on my key ring that allows me to clip them to my purse or backpack when I’m leaving the house and I have a hook near my door so that as I enter the house it feels natural to hang them in this easy spot.

This will work with most habits you are working to finesse. Think about the system(s) needed to achieve the best outcome you are seeking.

Tell me, what’s a habit you’re working on right now?

I think it’s a good idea to write out your ideas for your goal or habit work. Seeing it in writing helps to get it out of your head and possibly gain a new perspective.

One of my goals this month is finishing up my studies for my therapeutic hypnosis certificate. I know I don’t have complete control over the process, but I am doing all that I can to meet my deadline. I’ve added my study schedule to my calendar, and set reminders for assignments. These are the systems I am using to get me to my goal.
