Resilience is one of my favorite superpowers to have and to see in others. It is powerful and humble at the same time, it builds over experiencesI. It helps with just about everything, like bacon or puppies. But resilience often mimics our keys. We know we have it; we just forget where we put it. For today, and particularly for our challenging and ever-changing world: let’s remind ourselves, and build. Think for a moment about a time when a “door closed” in your life. A loss, a missed opportunity, a heartbreak. I do believe that when one door closes another opens but we still have to have the strength to go through it. We were resilient not by being passive—but by BEING RESILIENT. After that door closed, how did you move on? What strengths did you prove to yourself? What happened when you went through the door that opened? Let talk about that today—and build resilience for ourselves and others.

Hello all, I hope this finds you healthy and well. Thanks for joining! Today’s subject is going to be a technique I use for my clients called “sectioning”. We use it for focus, and to allow ourselves to put stresses or different aside in order to live happier and more productive lives. Before we get into the subject—let’s set up the exercise! First, please write one sentence about your current emotional state. Second, write one sentence about what is MOST on your mind right now. Be specific,, e.g., “the paper I have to write,” “my job search,” etc. Write away!

As those of you who have been here before know well, a lot of my coaching work centers around narrative. What stories are we living? What stories are we telling ourselves? Specifically for today: let’s look towards the future. This has been an incredibly hard year on all of us, but there will come a time when things are much easier. Change is inevitable, including positive change. So picture yourself on that day, when you look around and things have changed. When life feels less chaotic, and you’re striding towards your goals. What are you doing on that day? Where are you? Who are you with? What does the world around you look like, sound like? What is your “after” narrative?

Hello all! It’s such a joy to be here today, thank you for joining me. In uncertain times, I find that “going smaller” sometimes helps. Using small, short-term goals to keep me moving forward in my journey. This week I resolved to really pay attention to my sleep, and just work on each night as my daily goal. I’ve found myself happier and healthier already, and it’s such a small thing. What “micro goals” can you set for yourself this week?

Hello, it’s so good to be here today on this wonderful platform with you wonderful people. I hope this finds you happy and healthy! I’d like to start today with fortune telling. No, I won’t be telling yours, my crystal ball is in the shop. But so often when we try to tell OUR future we only do so with a negative bias. We only think “that could happen” when we think of negative outcomes. That’s natural, and in some cases healthy. What I want us to work on today is Balanced Fortunetelling. For every negative thing you think could happen, think of one positive thing… That. Could. ALSO. Happen.

Hello hope you are doing well I’m really confused about what to study at college. I love interior design and everything that has to do with color, furniture, architecture, etc... but on the other hand I love animals and I just have this intriguing feeling about becoming a wildlife filmmaker or journalist, all the people that I look forward and admire works with animals or are wildlife filmmakers, Or scientists like Jane Goodall, I find their lives so exciting and Honestly it would be my dream life. I feel that I like a lot of things and if a choose one I won’t be able to to the others if that makes sense. I feel stuck and disappointed of myself. Hope you can help me

Hello and welcome, I hope this finds you well and healthy! It’s great to see you and be here on Wisdo. Today’s exercise is something I call Title Reduction. I’d like you to sit comfortably, breath gently, and say “I am” plus your “full title” to yourself. Go ahead and type it here, for example: “I am Michael Eldridge, writer/filmmaker/coach.” As you’re saying that sentence to yourself, think of all the stresses you are under. What’s bothering you now, or what are you worried about for the future? Now say to yourself: “I am…NAME” and let see how it feels to drop your title. Now as you breath gently, think of your childhood. Good, bad, doesn’t matter. Then: drop your name. Say to yourself simply: “I am.” Breath a few more breaths, saying “I am” to yourself on each one.
