Hi I'm new I was adopted at 1 day old My mom counseled my birth mother when she was 14. Sje had 3 kids. I was the only one that was adopted and I have talked to her on Facebook and video chatted but I will never know who the birth father is and I'm 20 years old.

I was put up for adoption at birth and never knew or had any contact with my birth mother. However I was told by my adoptive mom recently that my birth mom had 2 kids at the time she gave me up. I’ve always wondered why she decided to give me away and keep her other kids, it was also shocking to find out that I had a biological brother and sister out there somewhere.

Hey! So I was put up for adoption as a child in China and I was adopted by a Canadian family. Since 2 years approximately, I’ve begun to ask myself questions about my past and about my origins. I would like to know more about them and learn who my biological parents are, but I’m scared to talk about it to my parents or to be deceived or even how to begin research! What should I do ? THANK YOU 💝

I was adopted when I was 4. While I was adopted by my maternal grandfather, I don't know who my birth father is. I have questions for him and my birth mother but I'm afraid of what answers I'll get. I've tried speaking with my birth mom before and she pushed it off like it wasn't her fault and would even talk to me. My family is unreliable with the information and I don't know if the name they gave me for my birth father is the actual name. I hate putting my husband through my crying spells but I just don't know how I should feel or if I should feel anything at all. My depression and anxiety doesn't help and I just feel so utterly lost with what I should or shouldn't do. Please someone help me.

Hey y’all, I wasn’t adopted but I was conceived using an egg donor, which means the woman who carried me (my “mom”) isn’t genetically related to me but my dad is, and there’s a woman walking around who is my bio mom that I dot know. I know that isn’t technically adoption but this is closest group to that. Anyways, I finally met my bio mom a couple days ago and it was crazy. We look similar and have the same eye and natural hair color. We also have a lot of really similar personality traits and interests. She’s a really kind woman and I want to get to know her more, but I feel conflicted because my “mom” who raised me and I are somewhat close and I know it makes her feel uncomfortable and awkward about me interacting with my bio mom even though she tried to be supportive. I guess I feel super conflicted between building a relationship or just letting things go back to how they used to be? And does she even want to build a relationship? 🤷‍♀️

Hi everyone I was adopted from Russia and know very little of my family. I saw everyone around me doing tests so I did one. I wanted to look into my Slavic ancestry along with health.

I’m not adopted but my biological father cheated very often while with my mother and last I knew about it the day before his wedding to his new wife. I’m genuinely curious to know if I have any siblings I don’t know about I know about my Twin sister and baby sister but I’ve always felt like I had more siblings growing up. Hopefully I can find out if I have any other siblings.

Hey everyone I'm adopted from South Korea. Did a DNA test and I'm trying to locate my parents. I would love to get to know some adoptees since everyone else is either sad for me or dosent understand how adoption affects adoptees basically telling me I should be grateful

My biological father has never been in the picture. I have been in contact with my biological mother. We have been emailing each other through my adopted dad. I recently turned of age to be allowed to talk to my biological parents. I want to talk to her over texting, but my adopted dad wants me to correspond with her by email first. I’m just anxious about meeting her and talking to her. What should I do?

I feel like shit for wanting to know about my birth parents but at the same time I need to know I have so much anger and feelings of neglect and abandonment but I just need the verification of someone saying “it’s not your fault” ya know that would be nice but I know it’ll never happen

I’ve always known that I was adopted because my parents are white and I am African American. I’ve always wanted to learn more about my birth parents but it was a closed adoption. I have no information. I love my family but I just wish I knew more about my own ancestry.

My parents got my sister and me a kit many years ago but all it could tell us was we were Asian. Lol, like we couldn’t tell. But I have no interest in finding my birth parents except for medical reasons. Do you think the genetic testing is more evolved now?

I have no connection with my birth mom. When I was adopted she told my parents she didn’t want to stay in contact. She didn’t leave any photos or baby memories from the day I was born until I was 5. I know her first name and my adoptive story. I also have a half sister, who is younger than me. I’m from Bulgaria but live in Canada now. I do visit Bulgaria but the policy there on finding information is very different then in Canada. I have so many unanswered questions and I want to find my sister but I’m not sure where to start.

A little hope for everyone: I met my birth parents years ago. I don’t have a relationship with my birth mother for my own reasons. But my birth father and I are best friends. We spend weekends together, he invited me to his house for the weekend with his wife who I adore, I get to see my little brother all the time. And my birth father and actual father really get along well! They even like to “gang up on me” when they don’t agree with something I’m doing.

So I finally found my birth father... I was always wanting to know what he looks like or why he didn’t want me. Turns out he was deported back to Brazil. He was a registered sex offender for molesting a child and holding them against their will. I found his name through my birth mother actually who contacted my sister out of the blue. She only wanted money of course but I got his name and figured it out through pieces of ancestry. Has anyone gone through this I heartbroken
