Hi there and welcome to happy healthy worthy wealthy refinement!
Today I thought I’d do it a little differently
Today’s session that is!
You will have to excuse the sometimes wrong words, as I speak into my phone rather than text due to arthritis. And sometimes I push send before I read to correct what the phone sometimes hears which isn’t what I say 😂!
Last week I was talking about feelings of worthiness, and how if we use external factors to determine our worth, Such as our appearance, our physicality, our career, then, when they are gone we can feel less worthy.
It’s important that we base our worth on other factors. Personally, I believe we are worthy just because we are here on this earth! We don’t need reasons. Yet, I found over the last few weeks that changes in my physical appearance and ability to do things had really impacted my feelings of self-worth.
Welcome Airianne! What a beautiful name!
With now needing Hearing aids to hear correctly, and walking sticks to hike without too much pain, and seeing the ageing on my body, I had a tough time accepting where I am on life’s continuum!
Please feel free to comment or ask any questions as we go through this session!
I found my worthiness had plummeted, and I was actually denying the reality of what is in this moment.
I couldn’t let go of my picture of ageing and continuing to have the same strong body, good hearing and good eyesight!
I was continuing with the practises that I know are good for me, such as journalling and affirmations and meditating, I couldn’t seem to shake that sadness around what it is.
And I realized I was asking myself more of why question, why is this happening to me, rather than asking myself questions that could help move me forward
And I asked myself some questions from Dr. Joe Dispenza. Five questions that I wrote the answers to.
Here they are, not in his words but you’ll get the gist. They can help turn around a situation
One. What is the challenge you’d like to untangle, turn into a solution?
Two. What might the lesson be behind what is masquerading as the challenge?
Three. How would you think, act and feel if this challenge didn’t exist? How would your life be different?
Four. How would you change your relationships and/or relationship with the external world?
Five. Who would you be and how would you want today if you had mastered this challenge, and it no longer existed?
Lol, Five is who would you be and how would you walk today if you had mastered this challenge, and it no longer existed?
So often, we can get hung up in the Y, which can just create negativity and downward spiral stuff, rather than looking at solution and I got caught in that spiral? These questions helped pull me out of that, and I realized how I was comparing the present to the past, and wanting to have the same physicality as I had in the past!
Comparing ourselves to others, or to our previous selves is not healthy if we are beating ourselves up with it!
Accepting what is is so much healthier!
And I realized that this was a much deeper issue for me, in that it was around supports! I have always been incredibly independent, and having to rely on hearing aids to hear and walking sticks to hike, challenged my independence!
Once I came to that realization, I could appreciate the incredible gift 💝 it is that I have walking sticks that enable me to still hike, and hearing aids that enable me to hear bird song! What a gift!!!
My apologies for the delays, My Internet connection keeps timing out. Not sure why that’s happening, it hasn’t happened before…
Our life is filled with challenges, and I challenge you to ask yourself these five questions next time you’re dealing with something that’s challenging you.
We need to think outside the box, when we continue to do things the same old way, we continue to get the same old results!
I’m not sure if anyone is here, but if anybody has any questions or comments, I’d love to hear!
And, I’d love to challenge you to lighten up a little! Add a little silliness to your day- we tend to forget silly as we get older! And it can just be fun to add a little goofiness to your day!
OK, that ends what I have to say this morning. I’ll still be here for the next 10 minutes, so if you have any questions or comments feel free to speak them now!
Wishing you a happy, healthy, worthy, wealthy week! I will not be available next week, as I will be on a plane at this time!
