How are you doing today? Anyone reading anything good? I’m doing the “Big Read” in combo with the libraries in America. This year’s book is called “Reverie”. Anyone else reading it?

I recently finished “Caraval” by Stephanie Garber. I’d give it a B. One passage I really loved had 2 characters talking about fate and how a person may seem like they are constantly guided in the wrong direction.

The analogy is this: A cat will always chase a mouse. But a cat being chased by a dog at the same time will react differently, as will a cat that is trying to catch 2 mice. What I got from this is that we must have patience for others, as well as for ourselves when the past (the dog in this analogy) is making for a potentially whacky present. Then add on top of that the idea of running after 2 mice (or, in this analogy, running after too many goals at one time), we are going to also have some whacky, unhealthy outcomes.

Brilliant way to conceptualize this multi-layered space we can find ourselves in. Patience, understanding, and a bit of a light-hearted approach seems to me to be the best remedy for getting closer to our happy places more often.

Ok friends! I am sending you love. For those of us celebrating Thanksgiving this week I truly hope you are able to focus on sparks of light. I will be hosting my other live session on Wednesday at 4:30pm ET. “Check Your Self” is a fun live group chat about mental health, habits, and stepping boldly towards our goals. Have a great night and thanks for being here! Filomena

I’m reading a Katie Fford book . I’m finding it hard to focus on the reading when I do it for too long . I think it’s cause I need to get new glasses and I don’t sleep well
